Copy important papers and cards

Tip #51: Consider making a copy of your important documents (like SS card, birth and marriage certificates, passports, adoption papers, insurance papers, etc.) and keep them in a safe place and in a different location than your regular files, possibly even in a safe deposit box at a bank.

Another idea is to copy the front and back side of any of your debit, credit, and department store cards.  That way, if your purse is ever lost or stolen, you will have the information the credit card company needs to replace/cancel items that were stolen.  (Make sure to copy the front and back side.)
